Movements tend to take on a life of their own. There is a need for sound organization, but not much of a top-down controlling mentality. The key is to enable the movement and its event programmes to grow organically.
Balancing ambition with practicality
The Transformation Games aims to start big enough to be a global wake-up call and an impressive gathering but not be oversized. That’s the best way to ensure that funding needs can be met and systems tested. Over time, the main biennial Games will grow in size and perhaps duration. And The Transformation Games pre-qualification heats may be held in several countries, especially large ones that wish to enter a lot of teams, or even in regions. Below, there is a possible growth path along which the Games may travel but, as noted earlier, anything is possible.
The Transformation Games combination of offline and online activity is designed to be a story-telling engine and a marketing machine to raise global awareness. It will boost education and engagement by the global population, year by year. This ambitious plan and vision aims high, as it must, but it needs to be achieved in measured steps.
