The Transformation Games will attract teams from many different sources, to achieve fresh thinking, new initiatives, solutions and to trigger more action and worthwhile outcomes.
As McKinsey and Deloittes each recognised, “a core power of prizes derives from their openness: their ability to attract diverse talent, generate unexpected approaches, and reveal unusual perspectives in the face of a problem or challenge.
“The ability of prizes to mobilize new talent is an important driver of innovation. The history of science is replete with instances of outsiders proposing novel and ultimately revolutionary solutions to problems that had vexed insiders.”
And as Robb Smith says, “our best and brightest must channel their efforts with more wisdom and greater understanding than those who have come before them. Working in the system is no longer adequate: we need more innovators working on the system, and to do that they need to understand it. They are simply reshuffling a declining deck of cards, not thinking hard about how to change the game that’s being played.”
TTG will celebrate a new sense of global collaboration, as well as healthy competition. And participation is open to everyone, no matter their qualifications or age.
Any team or individual wishing to apply will find competition guidelines on the online portal of The Transformation Games.
Those that apply will have their submissions reviewed and, if they make it through, will be invited to participate in either national heats held in-country, or in regional heats. Here they have the opportunity to present their ideas and plans in depth to a highly qualified and diverse group of Transformation Games judges.
The top teams will then prequalify for the Semi Finals at the Games. Those who make it to the Semi Finals stage will be able to showcase their talents, thinking and solutions at The Games, in competition with the best in the world.
The best teams with the best ideas and solutions will be invited to compete in the Finals while the world watches.
The Games will energize people from across the world to participate in the competitions, conversations and debates.
The future is up to us, to the citizens of the world. The future literally depends on what we do every day.
A maximum of 4 persons per team participating at the Games, are invited. More team members are allowed behind the scenes. Every participant will enjoy the competitive challenges and opportunities to meet and compete against different organisations. They will learn from the experience and the mixture of disciplines and cultures.
TTG will invite national teams, city teams, corporate and independent teams from around the globe, stimulating national pride and support and generating citizen engagement and mobilization.
From Beijing to Beirut, Delhi to Durban, Harvard to Hobart, Moscow to Mexico City and Ottawa to Oxford, will find the Games provide an exceptional opportunity to showcase their research, knowledge and quality in their field and to raise awareness of their capabilities.
The Games are ideal for progressive companies who wish to be future-ready and to be able to benefit from the extraordinary opportunities within sustainability and transformation.
They will find the learning experiences, engagement opportunities with their teams and relationships with their clients are enhanced by competing to solve Goals and to serve the global community.
Participation also creates greater recognition, respect and connections, when attracting new talent and investment.
Schools and groups of friends can enter teams to compete too. In TTG’s research and testing exercises, some parents questioned whether pupils at schools could compete effectively against the Mckinseys or the PWCs of the world.
Several leaders in education and heads of schools were asked and thought they would be well-matched and highly competitive. Many commented “I’d bet on the schools!”
and other professional bodies may enter teams in competitions and apply on line when the competitions are announced.
Teams can come from anywhere. You won’t need degrees or professional qualifications. You just need ideas, energy and a passion for solving challenges.
Are you one of those special people who works best alone? You may be a light-house keeper, a loner or not fit into a team nearby.
That’s no barrier to entering a team of one. Some of the greatest minds were soloists and helped to change the world.
